Greetings,
The Office of the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs is the administrative component of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston dedicated to providing quality academic programs and services and research opportunities for its faculty and students. We oversee academic program development and student services for the health science center's six schools. We also direct campus wide strategic planning efforts and are responsible for leading the health science center in its Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) re-accreditation. As part of the most comprehensive health science center consisting of six schools, an institute of molecular medicine and a psychiatric center, we are committed to the institution's mission to teach, cure and prevent disease now and in the future by educating health science professionals; discovering and translating advances in social and biomedical sciences; and modeling the best practices in clinical care. We shall attain this mission by educating health professionals and scientists, creating and evaluating new knowledge, and modeling appropriate and compassionate clinical care. Guided by this comprehensive mission, the institution will be able to serve the multicultural population of Houston, the State of Texas and the Southwest region of the United States.
