The ICU Consult Service at Memorial Hermann Hospital sees all patients with critical issues in the transplant ICU and burn unit. In addition, the service is also consulted on floor patients for a specific question or issue. The service sees all patients consulted on, without exception. In addition, the service will also see patients in burn or transplant ICU not currently consulted on if the patient may have critical care issues shortly. ICU Consult service coordinates with the various services in terms of procedures (usually ICU Consult does or assists with lines, sometimes other procedures) The service also helps to coordinate care between the primary team and the various consultants.
