Regional Anesthesia Fellowship

University of Texas at Houston in the Texas Medical Center:

Memorial Hermann Hospital is one of the largest Level One trauma centers in the nation, thereby allowing this regional program to emphasize all aspects of regional anesthesia. The fellow will be exposed to various types of peripheral nerve blocks, as well as placement of indwelling catheters for postoperative pain management using both nerve stimulation and 2D ultrasound. Current procedural caseloads average 2000 per year. The Regional Anesthesia service also provides acute pain management consults for adult and pediatric orthopedic patients.

Research Opportunities: One Academic/Week
Rotations include: Main Operating Room, Ambulatory Surgery, Acute Orthopedic Pain Management.
Start dates are July or August 2009.
