Residency

The goal of our Residency Program is to educate physicians in the fundamentals of anesthesia and its related disciplines.

The goal of our Residency Program is to educate physicians in the fundamentals of anesthesia and its related disciplines. We aim to graduate broadly educated, well-rounded practitioners with the abilities and resources to enter with confidence any aspect of anesthetic practice they choose.

The program offers an intense background in the basic sciences of physiology, biochemistry and pharmacology, as well as the opportunity to apply these disciplines to the broad spectrum of clinical practice.

Educational activities are centered in the operating room and classroom, but also occur at the Shock Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Hermann Hospital. Clinical exposure to every aspect of anesthetic practice is provided in Hermann's and LBJ's operating rooms and specialty areas at Texas Children's Hospital, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and the Texas Heart Institute.

Applications for PGY-1 and PGY-2 positions are made through ERAS. Applications for other positions can be made by printing and completing the application.

For information on how to obtain residency application, please email Jonetha A. Davidson.
