Interviewees need to report to the Anesthesiology
Education Office, Medical School Building (MSB 5.196) at 7:30 a.m. A continental
breakfast will be provided. At the introduction to the program you will
be provided schedules and itineraries. The interview day ends at approximately
3:00 p.m. or 3:30 p.m.
During the day you will have access to a handful
of residents that will answer questions, discuss the Residency Program,
and give you a tour of the facilities here at UTHSC.
All candidates invited to interview will receive
an e-mail offering a selection of dates for interviews. A limited number
of interviews are held on each date and are provided on a first-come first-serve
basis.
Houston Hobby Airport is served by many carriers, the
principle one of which is Southwest
Airlines :
1-800-435-9792. Jet
Blue Airlines also flys to Houston Hobby from JFK in
New York City.
Hotels
Some of these hotels may offer special rates
to candidates who are interviewing at the University of Texas Health Science
Center-Medical School. You must ask the hotel if they have a special applicant
rate.
Please note: several hotels offer shuttles
to the Medical Center area.
The daily fee for the parking
garages in the TMC
is approximately $10.00 per day.
Directions
to the Anesthesiology Education Office of UTHSC Houston:
The Anesthesiology Education Office is in
the University of Texas-Houston Medical School Building (MSB). Enter the
medical school building at 6431 Fannin Street. You will need to show identification
and sign in with the security guard stationed by the entrance. The main
entrance is located off of Ross Sterling Drive which passes under the Medical
School Building at its juncture with Hermann Hospital. From this entrance,
take the GREEN elevators to
the fifth floor. When you exit the elevator turn right and go the
end of this hallway. The Education Office is Room 5.196. Driving
directions from the airport are provided on the website.
If you drive to the Medical
School, please park in the Texas Medical Center Garage
#4. This is located at the end of Ross Sterling Drive. Ross Sterling Drive
intersects with Fannin Street at the Medical School (6431 Fannin Street).
We can validate tickets for Garage #4, so
please bring your parking ticket with you. There is a $9.00 parking fee
if you do not have your ticket validated.
