The Psychological Assessment Clinic

David Lachar, Ph.D., Director
Professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences

The Psychological Assessment Clinic provides psychological and neuropsychological assessment of school-age children (grades K through 12) and adults of all ages. Although most referrals originate from medical school and community physicians (such as pediatricians, family practitioners, internists, and neurologists) referrals are also accepted from community agencies, parents, and by direct referral. As a teaching clinic, fees may be adjusted when this arrangement is made before clinical services are rendered. Assessments respond to typical questions of differential diagnosis
raised in mental health settings, and are also tailored to identify the reasons for poor academic achievement, as well as differentiating between the presence of poor emotional adjustment and the presence of problems associated with cognitive decline or deficit, such as poor memory or inadequate concentration.
