Summer Institute 2002: Photos

Athens at night. The Parthenon (right) stands majestically over the Odeon Of Herod Atticus (left).

Each year the Parthenon is visited by thousands of visitors who come from around the world to gawk at its beauty and errode the foundation with their footsteps, chewing gum, and spilt soda.

David Francis uses the eyes in the back of his head to stare down Philopappou Hill in a fierce battle of wills.

The Greek Honor Guard patrols near the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The 400 pleats of their kilts signify the 400 years of Ottoman rule. The tassles on their shoes are on loan from the Keebler Elves.
