Fluid movement across SC is determined by the Hydrostatic and Oncotic pressures (p)

Filtration is equal to (Capillary hydrostatic p (Php) + Tissue oncotic p (Top)) - (Plasma oncotic p (Pop) + Tissue hydrostatic p (Thp))

The total fluid reabsorbed by the venules and lymph must be equivalent to the fluid filtered from the blood or the Thp would become elevated and occlude the low pressure venules reducing blood flow.
