Absorption of fluid & albumin by adjacent non-inflamed microvasculature

Albumin being recoveredThe AVA

Research (3, 4) has documented that healthy dental pulp can respond to a localized inflammation without a widespread elevation in tissue hydrostatic p, reduced blood flow, and total necrosis i.e. "self strangulation" (1). Protective mechanisms include:

a) increased absorption of the fluid and albumin by the non-inflamed microvasculature,
b) lymphatic channels and
c) redistribution of blood flow through AVA shunts.
