INPATIENT / HOSPITAL CLINICAL RESEARCH BILLING PROCESS

1. Consent patient and schedule Memorial Hermann Hospital Clinic/Hospital research service/appointment – After patient signs consent, contact appropriate department to schedule research service.

2. Prepare MHHS Research Subject and Notification Form - List all research services performed in hospital or hospital clinic during the previous week for each study patient on MHH Research Subject and Identification Form.

3. Indicate which services have UT professional fees billable to research study – Check those research services/tests that have UT professional fees to be billed to the study. (UT professional fees or costs are recovered from the sponsor by generating a bill to the study or being designated as % effort on the study).

4. Transmit MHHS Research Subject and Notification Form – Weekly, email Sandra Quinones or fax (713-500-8719) form to UTHSC-H billing department and also to Memorial Hermann Research office (713-704-5124). Place a copy of Form in study binder.
