As the first integrated department between the MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) and The University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston Medical School, the Department of Dermatology is ranked as one of the top 8 dermatology Clinical Centers of Excellence in the USA according to Dermatology Times, April 2009.

Conditions Treated

Common skin conditions (acne, rosacea, eczema), and rare, challenging skin disorders are treated by the Department of Dermatology faculty. No referral is needed, unless insurance requires it, but the department does receive many challenging consultations from dermatologists and other physicians.

Research

The Department of Dermatology faculty are at the forefront of research into the causes and treatments of skin diseases.

Education

The Department of Dermatology enhances the education of undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate students and trainees by providing a variety of clinical rotations in both inpatient and outpatients settings.
