*Retiree Organization for the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston founded the UTHSC-Houston Retiree Organization in 1993. At that time, the retiree organization had 4 objectives:

• To enhance the relationship between retirees and UTHSC-Houston by providing a means for communication and collaboration.
• To increase retiree's satisfaction with benefit programs by developing a retiree newsletter that addresses their specific concerns.
• To aid employees in making the transition from active employee to retiree by providing a continued relationship.
• To increase retiree participation in university activities, such as mentor, working in the volunteer programs, on the annual campaigns, teaching part-time and etc.
