U.S. News and World Report Survey
In the fall of 2001, U.S. News commissioned a survey
by T.E. Systems, Inc. of doctoral programs in the biological sciences.
Questionnaires were sent to the department heads and deans or directors
of graduate studies at each program. The questionnaires asked individuals
to rate the quality of the program at each institution on a five-point
scale from outstanding to marginal. In the biological sciences, 31 percent
of those surveyed responded.
In this reputational survey, the GSBS ranked in
the top quartile in the nation.
