Complementary and Alternative Medicine: Introduction to Asian Medicine and Its Applications in Western Medicine
Course Description:
In recent years, increasing numbers of patients are utilizing complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) for both preventive and therapeutic intervention for a variety of conditions. This course will examine various popular Asian modalities such as acupuncture, meditation and herbal medicine and understand their mechanisms and their integration into mainstream medical practices. Students will have the opportunity witness these modalities in practice.
