Medical Humanities Program to be Featured in Upcoming Fair
November 11, 2013
Beginning in 2007, the McGovern Center began to offer a Certificate Program to students who were interested in enriching their medical education through the humanities. Since then, the Center has seen nearly 200 students participate in and graduate from this successful program. Starting with the 2011-2012 academic year, the Medical Humanities and Ethics Certificate Program expanded its reach, joining the Scholarly Concentrations program offered to students at UT Medical School.
As a member of the Scholarly Concentrations, there is much competition among the various programs as students can only apply to participate in one program of their choice. Despite the competition, the Medical Humanities program has seen strong interest from students and classes of up to 30 representing each MS year.
Each Fall semester, the Office of Educational Programs, which houses the Scholarly Concentrations, hosts a Scholarly Concentration Fair. As a participant, the Medical Humanities & Ethics Program will be present to offer information to, answer questions from, and recruit interested students.
The fair will be held on Monday, November 18 from 12:00—1:00 pm in the MSB Leather Lounge.
For students unable to attend the Fair, more information about the program can be found on the program's webpage.
