Blue Book Electives
Each semester, the McGovern Center sponsors a number of blue book electives, optional short courses that are designed to enrich and enhance the medical student's core curriculum experience. While blue books are primarily open to UT medical students, some of these electives have been made available to students of other schools, including UTHealth's Schools of Nursing and Public Health, and Baylor College of Medicine.
Blue book electives include:
- Art of Observation
- Global Health in the 21st Century
- Healing by Killing
- History of Medicine
- Hot Topics in Ethics
- Popular Modalities of Complementary Medicine
- Street Medicine: Healthcare for the Homeless
- Suffering: Pathographies of Mental Illness
- The Healer's Art
