Welcome
to “Sacred Vocation”
By
participating in this program, you can facilitate
transforming work in two ways: first, by changing
the way people view their work in
the context of their lives, and second, by changing
the work environment to support work as a "sacred
vocation."
The
Sacred Vocation Program’s was originally developed
and launched at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital
(SLEH)
in Houston, Texas. The program was created as a method
to improve patient satisfaction at St. Luke’s
Hospital. If we want employees to care for patients
and be supportive of patients’ families, we
need to care for the employee first and link their
work to what gives meaning to them. We need to create
an environment where work is considered a sacred
vocation.
Through
the Sacred Vocation Program we intend to help
all employees create a more healing environment by
the quality of their interaction with each other
and with patients or clients.
You
can become a successful Sacred Vocation Program facilitator
by participating in our Facilitator Training
program. Facilitators will be trained to conduct Phases
I, II and III of the Sacred Vocation Program.
