Signing Ceremony for the Agreement of Cooperation On December 2003, a delegation from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston traveled to Mexico to visit with officials from Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM). The delegation signed the Agreement of Cooperation and finalized plans for a Program Agreement. The delegation included Hui-Ming Chang, MD, MPH (vice president, Office of International Programs, special advisor to the president), Carlos A. Moreno, MD (vice president, Office of Community and Educational Outreach) and Liliana Rodriguez, MPH, RM (AAM, director of special projects, Office of Community and Educational Outreach). They met with Alberto Bustani, PhD (president of ITESM), Martin M. Hernandez Torre, MD (director health science division and dean School of Medicine), Angel Neftali Cid Garcia, MD (dean of Undergraduate Programs) and Jorge E. Moreno-Cuevas, MD (professor and director, School of Medicine Research Program). A site visit to the Monterrey School of Medicine was given.

Signing Ceremony for the Program Agreement On June 5, 2004, a delegation from ITESM visited UTHSC-H to attend the signing ceremony of the Program Agreement between both institutions. Cooperation was discussed between both institutions in the areas of clinical research, education and community work. The attendees from UTHSC-H were: James T. Willerson, MD (president, UTHSC-H), L. Maximilian Buja, MD (executive vice president, Office of Academic Affairs), C. Gwin Morris, PhD (vice president, Office of Public Affairs), Carlos A. Moreno, MD (vice president, Office of Community and Educational Outreach), Hui-Ming Chang, MD, MPH (vice president, Office of International Programs, special advisor to the president), Liliana Rodriguez, MPH, RM (AAM) (director of special projects. Office of Community and Educational Outreach), Gary C. Rosenfeld, PhD (professor, Integrative biology and pharmacy), and Stanley G. Schultz, MD (dean, Medical School).
