Artist: Scott Holmes

Scott Holmes graduated with a bachelor's degree in medical illustration from a joint program at the Cleveland Institute of Art and Case Western Reserve University in 1995. That same year he began work at Medical Plastics Lab (now Laerdal) in Gatesville, Texas. There, he designed anatomical models, CPR manikins, and surgical simulators as well as creating traditional illustrations for MPL's literature. In 1997, he was certified as an Emergency Medical Technician. In 1999, Scott joined the UT Division of Immunology and Organ Transplantation where he continues to work with a wide range of media, including traditional illustration, web design, graphic design, photography, and 3D animation. In July, 2006, the role of web coordinator for the Department of Surgery was added to his duties. Scott is a professional member of the Association of Medical Illustrators.
