Artist: Shilly Riser

Shilly Riser is from Iquitos, Peru. She graduated from the Peruvian Amazonian State University with a bachelor's degree in administration. She moved to Houston, Texas, in February 2007 to begin working at The University of Texas Medical School, Office of Communications.

Shilly enjoys traveling to different countries with her husband; together they have traveled to 19 countries, total. Her watercolor technique is influenced by her travel to Asia (China, South Korea, and Japan), where she lived for nearly three years.

Shilly believes painting allows the artist to express their emotions through colors, shapes, and shades; painting transmits energy and emotions. Her aspiration is to develop her own painting style.
