| The implementation of Problem-Based Learning was a major educational initiative undertaken by the Medical School in September 1994. The program is immensely popular with both faculty and students. Problem-Based Learning groups of eight to nine students are held three times a week throughout the second year. The cases are organized around organ systems and developed by both basic scientists and clinicians. One hundred faculty serve each year as group facilitators.
