Dermatology Programs

Dr Duvic with patientResidency Training Program


The three-year Dermatology Residency Program (PGY-2 through PGY-4) offers extensive clinical training in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin and mucous membranes, intensive didactic training and the opportunity to conduct clinical research, a patient mix offering experience with both routine general dermatology cases and unusual skin disorders, ensuring strong training in diagnostics. This residency program will prepare you for a career in private practice or academic medicine. The training program fulfills the requirements for training as stated by the American Board of Dermatology and is accredited by Residency Review Committee for Dermatology of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. You will be eligible to take the American Board of Dermatology examination upon completion of the residency. Explore the program here.

Fellowship Training Programs

Clinical Research Fellowship

The research fellows participate in a variety of clinical research projects, many of which involve novel drug applications. Fellows receive advanced training in clinical trials design and management, grant processes, and research methodology. Applicants must have completed at least an internship and have a Texas license to practice medicine prior to beginning the one year program. Most of the fellows have a goal of later pursuing dermatology residency training, but advanced fellows contemplating academic careers are also encouraged to apply.

Procedural Dermatology

The one-year procedural dermatology fellowship housed at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is accredited by the American Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and approved for membership to the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology (Mohs College). Advanced Dermatology Surgery

Advanced Dermatology Surgery Fellowship is designed to train the consummate dermasurgeon, one who is skilled in the many facets of procedural dermatology and skin cancer care. Only candidates who have successfully completed the Procedural Dermatology Fellowship above will be considered. Explore the program here.
