Student
Health Services is available to all UTHSC-H Students and their dependents.
Our clinic is staffed by UT Faculty, who are mostly board certified in
both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Services provided include: You are required by the University to pay a Student Health Fee. With this fee, you can access healthcare in the clinic and see a nurse or physician at no charge for minimal or limited/minor problems. This involves a focused history and an exam with a straightforward medical decision (e.g., conjunctivitis “pink eye”). If your visit requires a higher complexity visit then services are billed to your insurance carrier. In this case you may be responsible for your insurance carrier’s co pay and a portion of your office visit. If you need to see a specialist then you can be referred to one by our team of physicians. There will be a fee associated for some immunizations not covered by your insurance carrier and some lab work. For pricing and further details please contact Student Health Services at 713-500-5171. You are required by law to have medical insurance, which can be purchased through Auxiliary Enterprises or a private insurance company. If you utilize a HMO Plan you will need to list one of the Student Health Physicians as your PCP. For more information regarding insurance please visit Auxiliary Enterprises website. For your convenience a Class D pharmacy is present onsite which carries
several antibiotics, birth control pills, antacids and allergy medications.
Most medications are available for $10. |
