All Medical School User/Desktop Support Personnel report directly to the Director of MS LAN and Desktop Computing with the Medical School Office of Information Technology (MSIT). Support personnel who are not employees of MSIT have a secondary reporting relationship to an assigned manager within the department in which they are employed. The departmental manager is designated by the departmental chairperson.

All MSIT support personnel are each assigned to one or more departments as the primary support person. The Director of MS LAN and Desktop Computing will consult with management in each department to determine who best to assign to a department for user/desktop support. The Director may shift MSIT staff among departments to meet critical needs of departments and to provide emergency support when assigned personnel are for some reason unavailable.
