Undergraduate Summer Research Program

Undergraduate Summer Research ProgramThe UTHSCH Summer Research Program for Undergraduates is a 10-week program that matches college sophomores, juniors, and non-graduating seniors with faculty scientists to conduct biomedical research in labs throughout the health science center. Applicants must have completed at least 12 hours of science courses and have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

With their mentor's guidance, participants work on research projects and, at the conclusion of the program, write brief abstracts about their projects. All program participants attend weekly, one-hour seminars on cutting-edge biomedical research topics.

Students are paid a stipend of $2,500 during the program. Housing in the Texas Medical Center is available at a reasonable cost.
