Getting Everyone's E-mail Address Into
The University's Directory Service

The University of Texas Houston has never had a directory service that includes everyone in the UT-Houston family with their respective e-mail addresses. A major reason why the University has moved to  an Integrated E-mail Service is to solve this problem. The integrated system automatically creates an e-mail account and a standard e-mail address for everyone and lists their addresses in the LDAP directory service.  Since it is impossible to instantaneously migrate everyone over to the new system, there must be a period of transition. During this period, some users will have a new e-mail address but will still be using legacy servers to access their mail. For these individuals, mail sent to their new addresses will be forwarded to their old servers.

Everyone at UT-Houston should have a new, standard e-mail address in the new, LDAP Directory Service. Use the following link to check to see if you have an address in the directory.

Check Your E-mail Address Listing in the LDAP Directory Service

If you do NOT have an e-mail address listed, then you should contact your departmental or school's LAN manager and report the problem.

Integrated E-mail Functionality:

Every UTHSC-H student, faculty, staff and sponserd guest has an uth.tmc.edu e-mail account.

Accounts are automatically created and deleted as individuals enter and leave UTHSC-H.

Nothing about an individual's e-mail account changes as his/her role(s) change.

Account authentication, i.e. user's ID (UID) and password, employs the standard UTHSC-H UID.

All accounts are listed in the UTHSC-H directory service.
