Configuring Netscape Security

Staring Point

    One begins accessing any security setting by selecting the "Security Icon" on the "Navigation Toolbar" at the top of "Netscape Navigator". This Toolbar is illustrated in the following figure and the "Security Icon" is shaded red.

    Clicking on the "Security Icon"security icon,  displays the "Security Info" page shown in the following figure.

    All security settings for all Communicator functions can be reached via one of the links listed in the white-colored field of the "Security Info" page.

    Clicking on the "Passwords" link (red shaded box in the above figure) triggers the display of the "Passwords" page illustrated below.

    Remember that if you select either of the password options other than "Every time your certificate is needed", there will be some period of time after you last used your private key that anyone can use it without your password.
