Configuring Netscape Communicator's
Personal Security Settings

Overview

  • Communicator is shipped by Netscape with security settings configured for nearly maximum security. A setting that you must check is the "Password" usage configuration noted below in Item # 1
  • If your Communicator is being automatically upgraded and maintained on-line by U. T. Houston network personnel , it should be configured for maximum security - unless you have changed the security settings. Check with your LAN manager if you are unsure if it is being automatically configured.
  • Security settings are easy to find and access because all are accessible via a single "Security Info" page.
