Archiving Your Course

The Blackboard Course Management System (CMS) makes it easy for faculty to quickly develop web-based courses, and easy for students to access those courses over the web. In addition, Blackboard provides a suite of communication tools which facilitates on-line collaboration, including a discussion board, virtual classroom, digital drop box, etc. On-line assessments are also available in Blackboard, as are on-line grade books, calendars, and an assortment of communication and collaboration tools. A Blackboard course is automatically created for each UTHSC-H course offered through the registrar's office, and populated with currently enrolled students.

Academic Technology and the Blackboard Steering Team members can assist the faculty with Blackboard course development, student support, and troubleshooting. Users can also contact the Help Desk at 713-500-4848

Archiving Your Course
Although regular back-ups are made of the Blackboard content and database, you should consider archiving your course for your own benefit and peace of mind. An archive is a copy of your course or organization in the .zip format and saved to your computer, CD or whatever storage media you prefer. Blackboard takes you through the simple procedure step-by-step.ion.

1. Instructions are found in the green dialog boxes.
2. Use the control below the viewlet screen to pause, rewind or fast forward the viewlet.
