Blackboard
You can access the Blackboard learning system at http://blackboard.uth.tmc.edu.
All Blackboard related questions should to be addressed by the Blackboard
support group for your school. If a problem can't be handled within
your school, the problem may be elevated to OAC.
Periodically, OAC holds a training class on creating and managing a
Blackboard course. Refer to the training page for dates (http://www.uth.tmc.edu/oac/classes.htm).
Or contact OAC at x3501 and request your name be added to the waiting
list.
Note: Unviewable courses may mean that a class has not been posted
or has been improperly posted on the Web. Its not necessarily a technical
problem. The LAN manager will be able to determine what you will need
to view list of LAN managers and their contact information at http://www.uth.tmc.edu/info_tech/lanmanlist.htm.
Database Information
Academic Computing also provides services to the university
by creating databases. You may contact the database team by calling the
main line at x3501. For more information on database development, see

Desktop Support
For desktop support, contact your departmental administrator or your
LAN Manager. Access the list of LAN Managers organized by schools and
departments at http://www.uth.tmc.edu/info_tech/lanmanlist.htm.
Dialup Access: Purchasing
Dialup
For instructions on how to purchase dialup, cost, or support, contact
OAC x3501. You may also be able to get assistance on dialup from the
Help Desk at x4848. For more on dialup, see http://www.uth.tmc.edu/oac/sysadmin/services/access.html
Digital ID's
For assistance when applying for a Digital ID, or picking up your information,
you may contact Academic Computing at x3501, or you may contact one
of the LRAAs. A list of the LRAAs is available at http://www.uth.tmc.edu/netcenter/middleware/digital-id/id-centers.html.
Once you have applied for your ID, you may go to any of the following
verification centers to pick up your information: url to verification
centers. You will be asked to show two forms of identification such
as a driver’s licenses and U.T. ID badge, or your passport and
U.T. ID.
E-mail
Web based e-mail is available at http://mail.uth.tmc.edu.
E-mail password problems may be handled by the Help Desk at x4848 or
by your LAN Manager. To find your LAN Manager, see http://www.uth.tmc.edu/info_tech/lanmanlist.htm.
Some common e-mail questions include e-mail configurations, passwords,
vacation messages, etc. with which your LAN manager or the Help Desk
may be able to assist you. For problems on e-mail over quotas or lost
e-mails, contact OAC at x3501
Guest Accounts
For assistance with applying for a guest account through
the Office of Academic Computing, go to https://oac9.hsc.uth.tmc.edu/jsp/GuestAdmin.
When applying for an account, your faculty member or A&P from your
sponsoring department will be asked to provide their UID and password.
If you have problems call x3501
Once you have applied, you must go to any of the following verification
centers (http://www.uth.tmc.edu/netcenter/middleware/digital-id/id-centers.html)
to pick up your assigned UID and password. You will be asked to show
two forms of Identification such as a driver’s licenses and U.T.
ID badge or your passport and U.T. ID.
Multimedia Scriptorium Lab
Usage
For assistance with using/reserving the OAC Multimedia equipment,
you may contact the main line at x 3501 or send e-mail to scriptorium@uth.tmc.edu.
Lab space is available for Web development including page creation, photograph
and slide scanning, and to create digital movies or slide shows. The MmS
Lab is free of charge. Note: content and use must be in
line with HOOP policies and in support of the University mission. For

Publishing to OAC Servers
To gain access to server space for publishing new information

Also, should your responsibilities change and you need to learn how
to publish, good Web techniques for creating information documents or
courseware, etc., check out our training information. The training classes
are free and geared to this university environment.

Training
Training is available free of charge by OAC staff in the use of Web
authoring tools. For class schedules and a list of courses available,

Web Information Multimedia
Development
The Office of Academic Computing can assist faculty and staff in creating
Web pages or multimedia elements for classroom support, departmental
information, grant support, .... anything that supports the mission
of the university. The cost for Web development is $55/hour.
