Remote
Network Access and Computer Usage Services
The pricing of remote Internet/Intranet access and computer
services provided by The University of Texas Health Science Center at
Houston Office of Academic Computing
(OAC) is described in this document. Charges are accrued to computer accounts
& computer user identifiers and are billed to departmental financial
accounts or to Interagency Cooperation Contract agreements.
Students, faculty, and staff at The University of Texas Health
Science Center at Houston may also pay for their own academic network
and computer use by obtaining Individually Funded (IF) user
accounts. Billing for IF users is done through the OAC.
Students in the following schools can access these services which are
paid via student fees (SHIS, DB, SON, MS, GSBS)

Shared dial-up access includes up
to 120 hours usage per month.
Usage above 120 hours will be billed at the rate of $1/hr. in addition
to the monthly rate.

Dedicated
Dial-up Access (V.90/56K Flex: PPP)
Dedicated dial-up access denotes that a single telphone
line is available for your exclusive use 24 hours a day.
This service may be desired when a remote computer or LAN requires continuous
dial-up access to the Internet.
