Mapping Shared Drives using Samba in Windows XP/2000

1. Right click on the My Network Places or My Computer icon on your Windows desktop, and select Map Network Drive...

2. You have the option of keeping the default drive letter that appears or choosing another from the pull down list.

In the Folder box, enter the OAC web server path:  \\129.106.30.1\www

Make sure that the Reconnect at Logon box is checked, then click the link labeled different user name.

3. In the box that appears, enter your logon (UT UID) and password. Click OK here to close it, then click the Finish button on the Map Network Drive window to close that.

4. Windows will now attempt to connect to the OAC server. If it is successful, an Explorer window  will open displaying the web server's root directory.

Now you need only to scroll down to your folder and begin publishing by dragging and dropping files from your computer into the correct folder on the server. CLICK HERE for more information on publishing with Windows Explorer.
