A personal file storage and Web publishing service provided to  facilitate "Learning and Working in Cyberspace"

Scholarly and collaborative activities are heavily dependent upon students, faculty and staff creating and using Web hosted materials. This system allows members of the UTHSC-H family to securely store personal documents such as notes, assignments, theses, dissertations, research papers, graphics, etc. that can be securely accessed anywhere via a Web browser or a WebDAV enabled application. Individuals may also publish personal home pages. 

Functions include: 

• File Storage -  files may be stored and accessed securely anywhere online.
• Personal Web Publishing - permits one to make Web materials accessible to others via specific folders.
• "public" folder - materials in folder accessible to anyone.
• "uth" folder - materials in folder accessible only to individuals in the UTHSC-H Directory Service.

WEBSPACE uses the WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning) protocol to transfer files. 

WebDAV supports 

• direct file creation, editing and  publishing via  Netscape and Mozilla browsers, and
• "Drag & Drop Folders" using Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Mac OS X.
