Didactic Program
The Department's formal didactic program a weekly series of didactic lectures by faculty and guest speakers, journal club meetings and resident conferences. In addition, the Department participates in a variety of clinical conferences throughout the Texas Medical Center.
In addition, senior and chief residents take an active role in the educational process for their junior colleagues in the training programs. Special mini-courses that address specific topics (such as maxillofacial plating systems, temporal bone dissection, sinus dissection, etc.) are offered on specific occasions. Residents are expected to actively take part in the clinical care of patients, according to their level of training.
