Trauma Symposium


The department hosted the annual city-wide Facial Trauma Symposium on September 18–19, 2009, at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. The two-day course, generously sponsored by Synthes, included didactics on the evaluation and treatment of facial trauma as well as hands-on plating sessions. Dr. Tang Ho, the department’s new facial plastic and reconstructive surgery faculty, served as the course coordinator this year. Oral and maxillofacial surgery, otolaryngology, and plastic surgery residents from UT Houston, Baylor College of Medicine, and UTMB participated in the course. The course featured well-known facial trauma surgeons from various disciplines and more than 50 residents participated in the course this year.
