Guidelines Regarding Enrolling UTHSCH Employees and Students in Research Studies

When a study involves the recruitment of employees or students as research subjects the following must be observed:
  • do not enroll persons working in your own laboratory or others who directly report to you
  • do not enroll students currently under your direction or attending a class for which you have responsibility
  • you may enroll staff, technicians, and students who work in other offices or laboratories beyond your sphere of influence
  • any suggestion of coercion or undue influence must be avoided during this recruitment
