Communication Channels for the Human
Research Protection Program |
Objective
The University of Texas Health

I. The Executive Vice President for Research (EVPR) is responsible for ensuring there are effective mechanisms for investigators conducting research involving human subjects to communicate with the CPHS and staff administering the Human Research Protection Program.
II. The EVPR ensures there are multiple mechanisms for investigators conducting research at diverse sites to communicate with the EVPR, CPHS, and staff administering the Human Research Protection Program. These include informal communications with the following constituents.
A. EVPR – Mechanisms may include Investigator Briefing training sessions, meetings, phone, email, and user surveys.
B. Executive Chair of the CPHS - Mechanisms may include meetings, phone, and email.
C. CPHS members/subcommittees - Mechanisms may include meetings, phone, and email.
D. Office of Research Support Committee (ORSC) staff - Mechanisms may include meetings, phone, email, and web-based form for suggestions/comments.
III. The EVPR ensures there are mechanisms for investigators conducting research at diverse sites to communicate concerns about non-compliance with the EVPR, CPHS, and staff administering the Human Research Protection Program. These include the following.
A. EVPR – Mechanisms may include meetings, phone, and email.
B. Executive Chair of the CPHS - Mechanisms may include meetings, phone, and email.
C. CPHS members/subcommittees - Mechanisms may include meetings, phone, and email.
D. Office of Research Support Committee (ORSC) staff - Mechanisms may include meetings, phone, and email.
E. UTHSC-H Office of Legal Affairs and Institutional Compliance - Mechanisms may include meetings, phone, email and anonymous reporting via the Compliance Hotline or Online Compliance Reporting Form.
IV. Investigators may appeal CPHS decisions according to HRP PP III.04 on appeals.
