(713) 500 - 0000
Professor@uth.tmc.edu
Originally from Oklahoma, Dr. Dutta graduated from the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine after receiving a B.A. in Chemistry and History from Duke University. He is a Clinical Instructor at the University of Texas School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and an active member of the United States Naval Reserve.
He received his fellowship training in shoulder and upper extremity surgery at Baylor University Medical Center/UT Southwestern in Dallas after completing his post-graduate training in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
Dr. Dutta's practice and research interests center around arthroscopy and reconstruction from the shoulder to the elbow. The large shoulder and elbow joints provide the foundation for the remainder of the upper extremity. When previous surgeries or serious injuries have left the patient at risk for permanent loss of function, a large armamentarium of treatment strategies must be at the reconstructive surgeon's fingertips. Significant experience with the most difficult cases brings the ability to solve any problem and create results traditionally not considered possible. When treating first time conditions and more limited disorders of the shoulder and elbow, minimally invasive techniques are used. Most treatments can be completed entirely through arthroscopy, with minimal scarring and stiffness.
