Dr. Clyburn is a native Houstonian, who graduated from
S.F. Austin High School in 1970, and the University of Houston in 1974 (magna cum laude).
After graduation from UTMB-Galveston Medical School, he completed an internship and residency in
General Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery at The University of Texas Medical School at
Houston associated hospitals. He then joined the clinical teaching staff at UT Medical School.
Dr. Clyburn is working with researchers at UT Houston and Rice University to develop antibiotic
delivery systems to prevent and treat bone and joint infections.
