PET and the Heart
How much does it cost?
In order to provide an imaging service to other physicians and give patients an opportunity to receive additional consultations with Dr. Gould, we have 2 options for payment.
Medical Insurance Coverage
A PET Scan can be ordered by your physician and billed to insurance.
The ordering physician should send an order for the PET (order form) along with patient insurance information. The ordering physician who has the patient’s medical history should do pre-authorization. Orders should be faxed to 713-500-6615 and our office will contact the patient to schedule and review the financial coverage. A full report will be sent to the ordering physician. The Weatherhead PET Center has contracts with the following insurance companies:
- Blue Cross – HMO, PPO, Traditional
- United Healthcare
- Cigna (MedSolutions)
Our billing office will let you know if any payment is due before your appointment is scheduled. Patients will be responsible for their deductible and for the remainder of the charges not reimbursed by insurance. (Not to exceed the insurance allowable charge).
This plan will not include a preventive medicine plan or review of results with Dr. Gould. A report of the PET will be sent to the referring physician.
A Preventive Health treatment plan and lifestyle evaluation by Dr. Gould is available for an additional charge of $500, which may not be covered by Medicare or private insurance. This includes a detailed medical and lifestyle evaluation, a personal review of the results with Dr. Gould followed by a detailed preventive Medicine treatment plan.
