The Postdoctoral Association provides Travel Award Program for the UTHealth Postdoctoral Fellows. Awards are granted granted on a competitive basis to financially assist Postdoctoral Fellows presenting at academic conferences. Significantly, the peer review committee for the awards is conducted by UTHealth postdoctoral fellows along with faculty advisors. Information and applications are available on the PDA website.
NIH policy requires instruction in responsible conduct in research for postdocs supported by any NIH grant. The UTHealth Postdoctoral Training Program offers a semester long weekly course in RCR. The curriculum includes all areas of training required by the NIH. Read the NIH Notice
The National Science Foundation (NSF) requires documentation of a plan for ensuring that trainees participating in NSF-funded research projects receive appropriate training and oversight in the responsible and ethical conduct of research (RCR). Read the announcement.
my IDP - New On-line Individual Development Plan - Free to Users
An Individual Development Plan (IDP) provides Postdoctoral Research Fellows a planning process that identifies both professional development needs and career objectives.
The new web tool myIDP provides assessment tools of skills, interests, and values. Based on results, there is a list of 20 scientific career paths which best fit one's skill set and interests. There are tools for goal setting and resources to guide you through the process. Visit the site and begin your plan for your career in science.

The UTHealth Office of Postdoctoral Affairs was established to address the needs and provide services to all of the institution's postdoctoral research scientists. The office serves as an information warehouse and provides an avenue of communication among Postdoctoral Fellows, Faculty and Administrators on issues related to postdoctoral training.
The Office offers Postdoctoral Fellows a starting point for resources and general information. We provide assistance to help ensure the entire postdoctoral experience on and off campus is as pleasant and productive as possible. It is the goal of the institution to attract first-rate researchers and provide them with an outstanding Postdoctoral experience.
