FLUBAG AWARD
The FLUoroscopic and BArium Guthrie award or FLUBAG
The FLUBAG Award has been instituted by Agnes Guthrie, M.D. According to Dr. Guthrie, "The seductive power of imaging with CT, ultrasound, MRI and PET is so strong, that some of us fear for the traditional, basic radiologic skills, such as reading plain films and fluoroscopy. They may become orphan children and slowly vanish. For the time being, those of us who can see beyond the nearest horizon, can tell you that we still need those basic skills. So, to make acquisition of those basic skills more fun as well as more prestigious, I decided, after a consultation with Drs. John and Oldham, to fund and award a new prize - the FLUoroscopic and BArium Guthrie award or FLUBAG." The prize will be given at the beginning of the second year of residency and candidates for it are the residents who just finished the first year. The awardees will receive a certificate, brunch at Tony's for two and $50.00. |
