Body MR Fellowship - July 2009

GOAL: The fellowship in Body MRI is designed to provide advanced training in magnetic resonance imaging of musculoskeletal, body, vascular, fetal, and cardiac applications.
 
LENGTH OF PROGRAM: 12 months of MRI with potential for elective time and research.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must have American Board of Radiology eligibility or certification, USA citizenship or HB1 visa, nd be able ot obtain a Texas Medical License.
 
POSITIONS AVAILABLE: Three positions are available for July 1, 2009-2010.

CLINICAL EMPHASIS:
The fellowship provides up to 12 months of dedicated rotation in the Magnetic Resonance Imaging section. The patient population includes high-risk obstetric patients, cardiac, trauma, renal, and liver transplant patients, as well as general medical, surgical, and pediatric patients.
 
FACILITIES, FACULTY AND EQUIPMENT:
Facilities include the Radiology departments at Hermann Hospital, a 600-bed tertiary care center with level I trauma, the Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital, a 300-bed primary care center, and several outpatient imaging centers. These institutions are the primary teaching hospitals for the UT Houston Medical School. There are dedicated faculty members in the MRI section, all of whom are fellowship trained and have extensive skills and experience in MRI. The facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including:
 
Magnetic Resonance Imaging: Hermann Hospital: Three 1.5 T GE and 1.5 T Philips magnets. One of the GE and Philips units is equipped with cardiac MRI capability.
