Nuclear Imaging of Meckel's Diverticulum: A Pictorial Essay of Pitfalls

 

A false negative Meckel's scan which became positive after pentagastrin administration
 
 
This pertechnetate scan showed no abnormal activity and was read as negative.

However, the scan was repeated after pentagastrin administration. There is now focal tracer activity on the left consistent with a Meckel's diverticulum.
