Mode of injury is simultaneous hyperflexion indicated by anterior translation of C4 on C5 and rotation indicated by superimposition of anteriorly rotated articular masses ( f ) and interfacetal joints ( i ) upon vertebral bodies and reduced laminar distance (arrows) due to posterior rotation of contralateal articular masses.
