The Human Research Protection Program is a shared responsibility. At the foundation of this Program is the Committees for the Protection of Human Subjects which must review and approve all research conducted by UTHSC-H faculty, staff and trainees when it involves human subjects or human derived tissue or data regardless of the level or source of funding. This authority extends to research they conduct at UTHSC-H facilities, the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, the Harris County Psychiatric Center, the Thomas Street Clinic, the LBJ General Hospital, and any other facility, agency or hospital.
