Tom R. Rice, CPA, the new Manager of Research Finance for the Memorial Hermann Clinical Innovation & Research Institute, is responsible for the overall financial management of the Institute. Included in his responsibilities is management of the Grants Accounting process for the research grants awarded to the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System.   In this capacity, Tom assures that all sponsored projects comply with the individual sponsor’s policies and procedures, as well as the policies and procedures of the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System.    In addition, Tom manages the billing and collection processes for clinical research projects that are conducted within the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System.

Tom earned his BBA in Finance/Accounting at Southwest Texas State University, successfully completing the CPA examination in 1994.   Tom brings more than 17 years of grants management experience to Memorial Hermann from his previous position as Manager of Grants and Contracts for Baylor College of Medicine.
