Chemical Safety Hygiene Plan

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has promulgated a final rule entitled Occupational Exposures to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories (29 CFR Part 1910.1450). The standard applies to all laboratories that use hazardous chemicals and specifies that a written Chemical Hygiene Plan must be developed and implemented that includes the necessary work practices, procedures and policies to ensure tht employees are protected from all potentially hazardous chemicals in use in their work area.
