The mission of the Fire and Life Safety Program is to provide support to The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston students and personnel concerning the recognition, evaluation, and control of physical hazards. Support is provided to the Fire and Life Safety Committee
in the form of facility safety audits, fire protection, occupational hazards monitoring, responding
to incidents, and performing incident investigations.
Americans overestimate the amount of time they might
have to escape from a fire. Although many believe they would have
at least six minutes to escape before a fire becomes life threatening,
the reality is that fire and toxic smoke spread much quicker than
you think. Have An EXIT
Strategy Where You Live, Work and Play.
