Automobile Liability
The UT System
automobile insurance policy provides liability coverage
for those automobiles owned and operated by the University.
The policy currently carries a $2,500 deductible per occurrence.
Policy limits are: Bodily Injury - $250,000 per person;
$500,000 per occurrence, and Property Damage - $100,000.
Automobile Physical Damage
The UT System
automobile insurance policy provides physical damage coverage
for those automobiles leased by the University or those
owned and operated by the university, which have specifically
requested physical damage. Policy deductibles: $100.00 deductible
for Comprehensive and $500.00 deductible for Collision.
Hired/Non-owned
The UT System automobile
insurance policy provides liability coverage (secondary
coverage to an individual personal policy) for employees
using their personal vehicle for business use. This policy
also provides liability, comprehensive and collision coverage
on short-term rental vehicles including those rented by employees
outside the System rental car agreement in force. * Notice
must be given prior to rental of vehicles.
Mexico Coverage
The UT System automobile
insurance policy covers: $75,000 bodily injury per person
and $150, 000 per occurrence; $100,000 property damage.
Collision and theft-deductible of 2% of value ($100 minimum)
for collision and a deductible of 5% of value ($200 minimum)
for theft; medical expenses-$2,000 per person and $10,000
per occurrence.
Hired/Non-owned (medical
residents only)
Provides
liability limits of $1,000,000. This is liability coverage
(secondary coverage to an individual personal policy) for
residents using their personal vehicle for business use,
but does not cover owned vehicles. This policy also provides
liability coverage on short-term rental vehicles. Will cover
auto hit by rental car and the rental car.
Mobile Diagnostic Equipment
This policy
covers the physical damage to the scheduled vehicles and
any installed equipment. Each item of equipment has to be
added individually and specifically described. The deductible
are $5,000 per occurrence; except $25,000 on higher valued
vehicles. The rate is $1.48 per $100 value. Equipment
Floater Policy
This policy provides coverage for equipment/property
owned by UT-Houston or loaned to UT-Houston while in the
care, custody and control of an UT-Houston representative
for UT-Houston business. Each item of equipment has to
be added individually and specifically described. Coverage
in certain high-risk countries is excluded. Amount of coverage
is based on replacement value and $1,500.00 deductible
applies. Exclusions include: wear and tear, fraudulent
acts, mysterious disappearance, war, nuclear reaction,
and government action. In water or underground equipment
is not covered.
Fine Arts Policy
This policy covers owned and loaned fine art
at a limit of $500,000 for UTHSC-Houston scheduled locations
and $250,000 at any other location/in transit i.e.:
exhibitions). There is a vandalism exclusion on the outdoor
sculptures. There is no coverage provided for loss
or damage to outdoor sculptures
resulting from vandalism or malicious mischief whether
owned or borrowed. There is a deductible of $500 that
applies to owned art and a $5,000 deductible for outdoor sculptures.
